With the Rewilding Cultures Mobility grant 2024, Miranda Moss will travel by train from Sweden to rural Switzerland to participate in the Swiss Mechatronic Art’s Society’s HomeMade summer camp/research week. Here, she aims to develop ongoing research and exchange ideas on human scale, creative and sustainable energy systems with feminist values. With the community, she wishes to cultivate workshops and documentation which can bring artistic and creative approaches to electronics and energy to more diverse, non-technical demographics.

Miranda Moss (b.1990 Cape Town, lives and works in Vaxjo) is an artist and transdisciplinary cultural worker focusing on the problematics and hopeful possibilities of technology from a socio-ecological perspective. Her practice has seen her exhibit, give workshops and perform research across the globe in various art, science, community, academic, public and hacker spaces.

She holds a BAFA from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, and was the recipient of the 2017 Pro Helvetia/Artists-in-Labs residency in Zurich. 2018 saw her participate at ISEA Durban with a series of workshops-come-activist action to defend access to sustainable electricity, and in 2019 was the recipient of The New Technological Art Awards Audience Choice Award at Zebrastraat in Ghent. In 2021 she completed an MFA in Sustainable Design at LNU in Sweden, and since has been working here on a research project titled “Regenerative Energy Communities; artistic and collective energy experiments for resilient agriculture”.
