Schmiede25 application is developing very well and we are expecting a great year full of FAUST.

Here is a little/abbreviated context for what we were thinking when we chose FAUST as a theme for 2025.

Faust ist das kraftvolle Symbol der Revolution und des Kampfes. Faust ist ein zentrales narratives Element der deutschen Literatur, welches den Konflikt zwischen menschlicher Gier, Ambition, Sehnsucht und den langfristigen Konsequenzen solcher Entscheidungen behandelt.  Schnelle, bequeme, vielleicht unerreichbare Lösungen scheinen greifbar für den Einzelnen ohne Rücksicht auf Moral oder Ethik. Aber wie auch die Ginie im Arabischen selten durch die Erfüllung von Wünschen das Leben verbessert, hat der Teufel sogar den Auftrag, einen Deal zu machen.

In Zeiten wo wir uns immer weniger auf unsere Sinne verlassen können betritt KI die Bühne. Diese Welle scheint von vielem gezeichnet, aber nicht Neugier, Vertrauen und Hoffnung, Grundlagen der Kooperation. KI schafft uns gesellschaftlich einen “faustischen Moment”. Um diesen ohne Rückschritte zu überwinden, sehen wir Hoffnung in kooperativer Intelligenz. 

Die Frage, die die Schmiede 2025 stellt, ist ob unsere relevanten Probleme mit KI zu lösen sind. Wird “Schneller und Mehr” unsere Probleme auch nur erleichtern?

Eine Faust ist kein Symbol der Kooperation oder des Vertrauens. Doch Vertrauen und Hoffnung sind in unseren Augen die Grundlage, sich einzulassen und neugierig zu bleiben, um soziale Kompetenzen nicht zu verlieren und unsere Kreativität gemeinsam zu schöpfen.  Die Schmiede steht für einen hoffnungsvollen, neugierigen selbstbestimmten Weg, ein Prozess, bei dem Vertrauen und Kreation, die offene Hand, wichtiger ist als Wettbewerb und Ziel. Dafür lohnt es sich, die Faust zu erheben.

The FAUST/FIST is a powerful symbol of revolution and struggle. Faust is a central narrative element of German literature, addressing the conflict between human greed, ambition, longing, and the long-term consequences of such decisions. Quick, convenient, perhaps unattainable solutions appear within reach for the individual—regardless of morals or ethics. However the genie in Arabic tales rarely ever improves life by granting wishes. The devil has the task of making a deal.

In times when we can rely less and less on our senses, AI enters the stage. This wave is shaped by many things—but not by curiosity, trust, and hope: the foundations of cooperation. From where we, Schmiede, sit AI presents us with a “Faustian moment” not on an individual, but on a social level. To move through this moment without regression, we see hope in cooperative intelligence.

The question posed by Schmiede 2025 is whether our most pressing problems can truly be solved through AI. Will “faster and more” actually make our problems easier to bear?

A fist is not a symbol of cooperation or trust. Yet trust and hope are the foundations of engagement and curiosity—essential for preserving social skills and cultivating creativity together. Schmiede stands for a hopeful, curious, self-determined path—a process where trust and creation, the open hand, matter more than competition and goals.

And for that, it is worth raising our fist.
