A(i)A(i)A(i)nimation Lab @ Schmiede26
Animation is boring and difficult! Maybe at Schmiede things are different?! NO! We want to explore analogue techniques, and torture ourselves. There might be salt, sand or pain(t) involved, maybe other stuff we find on the way. AI can do a quicker job, but that would be too easy for us suffering artists, and feed the capitalist content machine all too well! Animation literally means giving things a soul, not just moving dead pixels around.
So we will attempt to joyfully and unproductively create useless loops and other short animations, that can be played with live coding or in an improvised animation visuals jam, or just screened for our own pleasure.
If you want to participate or support the lab, bring a laptop, camera, tripod, light table, glass plate, pencil if you have them available, or none of the above!
